Overview
Cognito Search adds fast, typo-tolerant search to your e-shop or website. You feed it your catalog as XML, embed a small widget on your site, and visitors get instant results as they type — products, articles, categories, and brands, all ranked and styled to match your store.
Everything is hosted for you. There is no search server to run: you point Cognito Search at your feeds, it indexes them on a schedule, and the widget talks to our API directly from the visitor's browser.
How it fits together
- Connect your data. Register one or more XML feeds as sources on your search instance — products, articles, categories, and brands. Each feed is re-fetched and re-indexed on a schedule.
- Embed the widget. Drop a single
<script>tag on your site. The widget renders the search box and results, calling the search API directly — no server-side code on your end. - Tune and grow. Adjust the widget's look, restrict which domains may call your instance, add marketing banners, and watch what visitors search for in analytics.
